Each puzzle requires a significant amount of time spent in detailed study of various clues provided in the game. After solving the fire marble puzzle there are other ways to end the game. These colors are then used to power the generator found on temple island which in turn powers up the fire marble. Others change randomly each time the game is played so they have to be discovered during gameplay.

Going back in and up the stairs you will find another puzzle the underwater viewing chamber. If not the marbles stay where they are and you need to try again. In riven two core puzzles need to be solved to complete the game. Open any of the marble domes and enter the 5 d ni numbers you have obtained from gehn s book these are always different therefore if you have not obtained these you need to go back to his lab on crater island and get them. A fire marble dome also known as a rotating dome is a rotating circular dome found on each island in riven each dome has several d ni symbols representing colors on it with one being of a yellow color. These two core puzzles are the tombstone puzzle and the fire marble puzzle.
